🪶 Breed Description
California White chicks are pale yellow with a few black spots, featuring single combs and clean yellow legs and feet. As adults, they have predominantly white plumage accented by a light scattering of black spots across their long, deep bodies.
This breed is a high-efficiency white egg producer that combines the hardiness of the California Gray with the egg-laying power of the White Leghorn. Developed in the 1950s at Dryden Poultry Breeding Farms in California, the California White has become known for its excellent feed conversion, adaptability, and steady egg production year-round.
