Rouen Ducks are members of the Heavy Duck Class. They have a quiet temperament, making them an excellent choice for a home flock or for pets. Since there is a lethal gene involved in producing crested ducks, special mating considerations must be made. Crested Rouen Ducks, which are a beautiful multicolored duck with the same plumage patterns as Mallard Ducks, are characterized by having crests that are globular in form, relatively but not excessively large in size and free from divisions or flatness.
